Starting

The more I have to do, the less I am inclined to start. I fear failure and a mound of unfinished projects screams that it is inevitable. Funny, then, that my first inclination is to curl into fetal position and let everything fall to the ground.

If you refuse to begin, you have already failed. You don't need to be perfect. You don't need to succeed. You need to start. If you do that, you have a fifty percent chance of succeeding. If you don't, you have none. Make a list. Five things to finish, for good or ill. As G.K. Chesterton once said, "If it's worth doing, it's worth doing badly."

So get out there. DO IT.

(As a side note, welcome to my new blog and website. My old blogposts are still accessible at christinadirkes.blogspot.com, but all new ones will be here.)
